A Sexy New Plus-Size Calendar Is Here to Brighten Your Wall With Some Body Positivity

Plus-Size Models. The models for the #BeInYourSkin 2018 calendar are bloggers, people she finds to be influential, and her friends. They are also all plus-size.

Hand Picked. She hand picked 17 different models and posed alongside them. On Instagram Brianna described them as “"bossed up, kind, and generous plus-size bloggers, model, and influencers who I'm lucky enough to call friends.”

Inspiring. She wrote to Mic, “I love inspiring self-love and confidence in others but I’m inspired everyday by fashion. I was obsessed growing up with Vogue, Elle, V magazine. It’s the fantasy of fashion, the storytelling of editorial fashion spreads that I loved.”

Two Loves. “The idea... came organically. Putting my love of fashion editorials, with my love of empowering and inspiring body confidence in women into one, affordable, tangible project for my following was the inevitable next step for #BeInYourSkin,” she continued.

Different Light. While it’s definitely a pin-up calendar, there is nothing cheesecake about it. She wanted the photos to be sexy, but not sexed up. She wanted to create something where plus-size women were seen in a different light than people are used to.

Very Rare. “I wanted to create images of plus-size women that were creative, different, sexy, artful, strong, empowering and editorial,” Brianna told Mic. “It’s very rare to see a plus-size body in the media portrayed in an editorial way. I found my confidence in fashion, that’s why I started blogging.”

Representation Matters. Brianna aimed to create something plus-size women could see themselves in. They could experience the joy of being represented in something they normally aren’t so they could feel “strong, powerful and glamorous.”

Enough. She wrote, “My ideal customer is someone who will hang this on their wall and pass it everyday and have it be a reminder that they’re enough, they’re fierce and they can truly do anything at any size and shape.”

Shut Down. Brianna believes in empowering others. She’s all about shutting down body shamers on her social media accounts.

Ocean Air. The models she chose for the calendar are the same way. Charvelle Holder posted a photo on Instagram of herself at the beach with the caption, “This one goes out to my ‘disguisting[sic]’ and ‘ewwww fatty’ commenters from my last post. If you feelin' salty, it's just the ocean air sweeties.”

Model. Erica Lauren is a model who posts amazing images from various shoots. She tags the photos with body positive hashtags. She has recently partnered with plus-size clothing store DebShops.

Contagious Confidence. Brianna wants the confidence the models exude to be contagious to everyone. She hopes the calendar will inspire self-love in everyone
