Every time a festivity comes closer, you find yourself scratching your head. “What will I get for my gothic girlfriend this year?” It’s never easy to find the perfect gift for your other half, but if you are part of two different subcultures? It can be really tricky. We usually don’t have prejudices, but let’s face it: guys are usually crap when it comes to presents. Even if you are a goth guy, you’ll probably need some advice for pleasing your lady with a proper gift.

First things firs,t you need to define what type of goth your girlfriend is. Is she a Victorian goth? Does she wear long ruffle skirts, corsets, silver and velvet? Or is she a traditional goth, wearing pixie boots and all black everything? In this gift guide we’ll try to address a general goth feeling, so that your girlfriend will appreciate the gift whether she’s a nu-goth, a traditional goth or a Victorian goth.
We are giving you some pieces of advice, but you’ll have to judge which one is the best for your mate. If your girlfriend is into goth, any kind of goth, she will probably appreciate corsets. And everything that’s black or a dark colour.

Clothes. It’s a good idea to think of clothes as gifts if you know what your girlfriend is after. Has she ever used your computer to shop online? Do you have access to her computer? Check her browser history and see what she’s looking for. Get yourself a measuring tape and measure some of her garments: you’ll need those measures if you’re going to buy her a corset.

Shoes. Christmas is made to give and receive crazy shoes! Your goth girlfriend probably has a burning desire for those new Demonia sky-high platform shoes, or those amazing buckle boots. She’s not getting the shoes she wants because she thinks they’re too expensive, or that she won’t use them that much. That’s where you come in. Give her the shoes she’s always wanted and become her hero.

Accessories. Are you panicking about giving her clothes? Don’t worry, you don’t have to if you’re not comfortable with it. You can buy her jewelry, or a bag. She will appreciate your gift nonetheless.

Household. If you live together, or she has just moved to her own place, think about home decor. Give her a set of beautiful dark bed sheets, or a nice towel set for her bathroom. Your gift will be not only beautiful and classy, but also useful. We honestly think those are the best gifts (unless we’re talking about those Demonia platform shoes).
